BBVFC Annual Awards Night - Carousel Hotel, Ocean City Maryland

On November 17, the BBVFC held its annual awards night at the Carousel Hotel in Ocean City.  In additional to 140 members and their guests, the largest turnout ever, special invitees attending included Representative Gerald Hocker, Bethany Beach Vice Mayor Tony McClenny, Fire Commissioners Danny Magee and Bob Ricker, Fire Chiefs Chris Larmore (OCVFC) and Andy Johnson (Roxana VFC), Company presidents Todd Marvel (Roxana), Greg Tietmeyer (Millville) and Don Mitchell (Rehoboth), SCFCA 1st VP Joe Morris, Jr., SCVFA President William Tobin and Fire Marshals Richard Ward and Randy Lee.

Service awards went to life member Michael Wilgus (25 years), new life members Rick Parrett, Sr., Rick Parrett, Jr. and Richard Mais (20 years), Doug Murray (15 years), Brian Martin (10 years), Michael Suit (5 years) and Robert Cykosky, James Miller, Bob Minutoli and Chuck Young (1 year).

Brian Martin was honored as Firefighter of the Year.

Chief Moore gave thank you awards to outgoing president Bob Webster and outgoing assistant treasurer Wayne Fuller, to last year's line and station officers and to Rick Parrett, Jr., Brian Martin and Bob Minutoli for their assistance during his first year as chief.

Ladies Auxiliary President Sue Fuller presented ten-year service awards to Julia Laderer, Margaret Losink and Martha Feher and five-year awards to Jolene Barthel and Joan Thomas.  The ladies gave Chief Moore and President Parrett a check from this year’s fundraising activities with which to purchase a video call board for the HQ.   

The entire membership thanks Sarah Murray (chair), Mike Suit and Micky Wisseman for planning and executing a great event and to awards committee members Rick Parrett, Jr., Tom Moore and Chris Loeb for an entertaining program.
