At 1939 Station 70 was alerted for an engine company standby to Ocean City station 3. Quint 70-4 responded at 1942 but was diverted by Ocean City to the scene at 1945. Ocean City also requested Tower 70 to the scene and it responded at 1948. Quint 70-4 arrived on the scene and was positioned on the B/C corner of the structure. On Saturday June 21, 2014 Quint 70-5 joined healthcare providers and other emergency responders for the Safe Kids Day in Lewes. Hosted by Lowes at five points, the event featured fire departments from Lewes, Rehoboth Beach, Indian River, Slaughter Beach and Bethany Beach. Helicopters from Delaware State Police and Christiana LifeNet joined Sussex County EMS, Beebe Medical Center, Nanticoke Hospital, Delaware Fire School and many other community organizations to promote safety to families and children.......

On a warm Sunday morning in Bethany Beach, Station 70 was dispatched to Garfield Parkway in front of St. Ann’s Church for a vehicle fire. A Bethany PD unit doing traffic control had caught fire in the passenger compartment as it sat in the turn lane. Officers on scene had shut the unit down and used extinguishers to knock the fire down. Bethany Beach VFC routinely deals with removing patients suffering medical emergencies and traumatic events from upper floors of buildings. On Monday 4/21/14 for our monthly EMS drill crews drilled our procedures for using Tower 70 to remove simulated patients from upper floors.
