Marine Unit Assist DSP w/ Training - Salt Pond Bay

On Sunday 6-28-09 the BBVFC assisted DSP, Delaware National Guard and HAM Operators with a water rescue training exercise. Delaware Trooper 2 preformed several long line rescue operations in conjunction with Marine 70. The main purpose of this drill was to check inoperability between HAM radios and the 800 radio systems. In the case of the 800 system becomes in affective during a crisis the HAM operators could make a smooth transition for communications for emergency responders. There are more training drills planned for the future to further explore the capabilities of the HAM radio system.
