Fire Prevention - Lord Baltimore Elementary School
Wednesday, October 7, 2015
On Wednesday, 7 October 2015, your Bethany Beach Volunteer Fire Company assisted Millville Volunteer Fire Company in presenting a Fire Prevention Program to the students at Lord Baltimore Elementary School.
This is the very time to educate children in how to prevent fires and assisting family and friends in a medical emergency. It is amazing how these children can absorb this valuable information at a young age. Of course we recommend that the instructions presented to your children in school continued at home. Having an escape plan in place and the proper safety equipment at home is mandatory these days. Kitchen fires are common and putting water on a grease or oil fire is not a healthy combination. These are the types of instructions and knowledge you should school your children in as they grow. Instructing your children in staying low to the ground if your house is smoke-filled and having a pre-determined meeting place outside your home is essential for accountability purposes.
Bethany Beach VFC Quint #4, Ambulances, A & B 70 were manned by, FF/EMT Andy Johnson, FF/EMT Billy Ireland, FF/EMT Sam Crawford, JFF Joel Disler, EMT Trish Scott, EMT Jesika Martin and Engineer Brain Reed.
