Search in the Ocean - Off of Tower Shores North Bethany

At 1622 hours BBVFC was dispatched to search in surf area off of Tower Shores when a swimmer reported a possible person in the surf. DSP Trooper 2, DNREC and the USCG were also dispatched. Arriving on the scene command was established by Assistant Chief Moore on 70-8, and a Marine unit from Lewes Fire Company was also requested. Bethany units deployed our Marine 2 unit which is a jet ski with two certified personnel from the Indian River inlet. As well our EMS Gator responded up the beach from our Hollywood St. headquarters and searched the length of the beach. Following an extensive air, ground and water search nothing could be located, and the scene was turned over to DNREC.
