Multiple Alarm Structure Fire - 61 South Anchorage Ave South Bethany

At 0328 Sussex 911 received a report of a working structure fire at 61 South Anchorage Ave in South Bethany. A working first alarm assignment was dispatched for Bethany Beach VFC along with Millville, Roxanna, Frankford and Sussex County EMS. Arriving on scene Asst. Chief Shane Truitt found the structure fully involved with the exposure on side B well involved as well, the exposure on side D was also showing fire on the rear deck. Quint 70-5 laid a 5” supply line and began defensive operations. Engine 84-6 and Truck 84 also began defensive operations on the B exposure and a second water supply was established. A second alarm was struck bringing units from Ocean City, Rehoboth Beach, and Dagsboro to the scene. Mutual Aide was also requested to cover stations. The fire was brought under control after several hours and units remained on the scene until 1000. No injuries were reported and the Delaware State Fire Marshall is investigating.
