Assist Millville Working House Fire - Dukes Drive

At 2000 hours on Friday 3/15/13, Station 70 was dispatched to assist station 84 Millville on a reported working structure fire off of Dukes Drive. Tower 70 and Quint 70-4 were responding to a truck company assist to Ocean City and were quickly released to respond to the incident. A-70 and 70-11 responded from headquarters. Arriving on scene Quint 70-4 crew deployed to the fire scene at the request of command. On orders of the water supply officer, the Quint reverse laid 800’ of 5” hose from Engine 90-4 at the end of the lane to Windmill Road. Meeting Engine 90-1 there that had laid from a hydrant near Windmill Road and Atlantic Ave. This completed an over 2000’ line of 5” to get water to the fire scene. Tower 70 having deployed its crew to the fire scene boosted the hydrant pressure on Windmill Road with its 2000gpm pump. A-70 provided EMS support and rehab functions while fire police assisted with traffic control. After crews assisted with fire attack / overhaul operations and repacked the Quint and Tower, they returned to quarters at approximately 2300.
