Watercraft in Distress - Holt's Landing State Park

On 21 September 2015, at approximately 5 pm, Bethany Beach Volunteer Fire Company responded with Marine 70 to assist Millville Volunteer Fire Company. Millville VFC was dispatched by Sussex County Emergency Operations Center for a watercraft in distress in the area of Holt’s Landing in Dagsboro, DE. After several minutes searching for this watercraft, it was discovered as a Kite-Boarder in distress. Tow Boat U.S. was in the vicinity and completed the operation. All fire equipment was placed back into service. No injury was sustained by the Kite-Board operator. This is the fortunate conclusion every firefighter and EMT appreciates, particularly when it encompasses watercraft!
