Car Into Building Sparks Working Structure Fire - 524 Atlantic Ave

Just after 1 AM the box was struck for a Structure Fire in Millville's first due. A car had left the roadway and went through the structure, setting the addition of the home on fire. Quint 70 responded with 5 exactly one minute after dispatch. Upon their arrival, just behind Millville's Engine 6, they were tasked with a primary search of the living areas, with the report from bystanders that people may still be inside. The Quint's crew made entry to the living areas on Division 2 and encountered heavy smoke conditions throughout after opening the door. An aggressive primary search was performed above the fire on Divisions 2 and 3 with negative findings. Crews from Rescue 70 and Engine 3 assisted with fire suppression and overhaul in the fire room. Bethany Volunteers were on scene for about 4 hours prior to being placed in service and remained at the firehouse another hour cleaning up and getting equipment returned to service.
