Hocker Event to Benefit BBVFC - BBVFC's Wisbrock to Perform!

From 4/11/08 Coastal Point-Monica Fleming reporting For the first time, the annual Springtime Jamboree will benefit the Bethany Beach Volunteer Fire Company. “We feel they have a need with their new building and them taking on the ambulance service in their district,” explained state Rep. and jamboree organizer Gerald Hocker. He estimates that about $300,000 has been raised for various local organizations over the jamboree’s 25-year history. The annual country/Western music and comedy show boasts many return performers in its 26th year. They include George Keen, Hocker (as host), Miss Delaware 2007 Brittney Dempsey, Buddy Millman, Mike Evans, Floyd Megee Jr., Jaime Parker, Gerry Hocker, Charlie Lynch, Wade Hocker, Gina DeNubile, Jimmy Holson, Laya Brown, Beth Ann (Hocker) Cayhall, Reggie Helms, Jamboree Boys, Chelsea Megee, Wiliam Lyons, Gregory Hocker, Ken Evans, Andy Timmons, Billy West, Melissa Hocker-Willey, Ron Howard, Scott Evans’ comedy and the band Hap Tones. A new performer this year will be Monte Wisbrock, a BBVFC member. “It’s a full night of country music!” continued Hocker. “We’d like to thank Rep. Hocker for making the opportunity available to us,” said Bob Minutoli of the Bethany Beach Volunteer Fire Company. “With all the financial challenges that we’re facing, to be the beneficiary of an event that is so important to the community is really appreciated.” This year’s jamboree will be held Friday, April 18, at 7 p.m., Saturday, April 19, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, April 20, at 2 p.m. at the new Indian River High School on Armory Road in Dagsboro. Pre-show entertainment will be provided by Ron Howard on piano, starting at 6:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday.
