New Year's Day 2012 Event Coverage - Bethany Beach and Fenwick Island

New Year’s Day 2012 was a beautiful and busy day in Bethany Beach and Fenwick Island.  The Bethany Beach VFC provided EMS and Fire Police protection for three special events in our community.  Starting at 9:00am we protected an ocean plunge in Fenwick Island.  Following that over 700 runners/walkers did both 5k and 10k courses throughout Bethany Beach.  Then at noon, a second ocean plunge occurred at Ocean View Parkway in Bethany Beach.  One Runner was assessed after the race, but otherwise everyone had a safe and fun day at the beach.  We were assisted by Fire Police from Millville, Roxanna, Selbyville and Gumboro and Paramedics from Sussex County EMS.
