On Saturday November the 8th the Bethany Beach Vol. Fire Company held its annual awards night banquet. This year’s banquet was held at the Frankford Fire Company’s new banquet hall. Invited guests and members were present to support the fire company and their many recent accomplishments. Invited guests were Senator George Bunting, Representative Gerald Hocker, Mayor Gary Jayne and Mayor Tony McClenny. President Wisbrock and Chief Martin gave awards for service and top response for the year. Bill Bowden Sr. was the top responder for 2008. Wayne Fuller was voted fireman of the year. Hal Barber was presented with two resolutions for dedication to the BBVFC and 35 years of service. The Delaware State House of Representatives and the Delaware State Senate each created resolutions to commemorate Hal and all of his hard work state wide. The BBVFC would like to thank Doyle’s restaurant in Selbyville for catering the event the food was great. Thanks to the Lewes Fire Dept. and Chief Buckaloo for providing an engine standby during our event allowing our members to take the night off and relax.
